UNLEASH
CREATIVITY:
Jumpstart your mind to unleash the Creativity powers, mental
capabilities that you can exercise it, strengthen it and visualize
its capacity to work wonders. It’s the potentialities within
your own self that keeps the tough get going in the rough times
too! It is a myth that creativity is rare and mysterious, an
inborn talent and only artists can be creative. However,
Creativity is within everyone’s reach with no exceptions. To
unleash the powers of your potentialities, it’s the strategies
that need to be mastered and shoot up the Idea Bank storing all
the ideas that pop up in mind. New ideas fleet flashing through consciousness.
It’s the time to grab the opportunities and swing into action
with the idea bank flow. Exploring the creative skills have
learning ways too and imparts skill to others too. Capturing the
thoughts into the mind frame and getting inspired even from the
slightest flutter of the bird’s wings or listening to the
rustling of the leaves. Challenge is the second step that
accelerate the flow of new ideas and giving it a shape. Failures
are well springs of creativity or rather, disappointment leads to
creativity with born ideas in mind. Challenge is accepting with
grace and surging ahead to heights Efforts give it a push and
creativity flowers, an extension to what you already know. Try to
reach the moon and you will land up picking up some stars! The
saying seems mysterious because nor can you reach the moon nor you
can pick up the stars but while imagining to do so, one can pop
with new ideas trying to find the solutions and these ideas work
to unleash the powers of creativity! This will broaden your
thoughts and diversify into other fields. A person might have
creativity in one field but indulging deep, one can change to
tracks to enhance own creativity, learning about the subjects you
know nothing about and even you don’t want to know. The more
knowledge you have, the more diverse that knowledge is, the
greater your potentials for creative outputs. And Surroundings do
make a big difference. Brainstorming to expose your ideas and
exert team participants creativity. Creativity is individual and
so, even one has own potentialities. Make the time work for you.
Worry is a wrong word to let it in which can cripple your
creativity. Just let the ideas flow in natural course and let this
be a ready reckoned with no mental strain or force whatsoever.
Remember, every innovation came about because a determined person
stubbornly believed in the inner abilities of his or her
imagination. This will have wings to soar high if you have a
belief in your own self and the things that you can do. Sometimes,
wasted moments in life can turn to Creative explosions with just
‘ideas’ and make those moments turn to productive ones. Only
judging what creativity suits best is worth consideration or else
someday you land up being ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’
applying all those ideas but than, this is like grabbing the stars
while attempting to reach the moon, afterall:- )
CHECK LIST FOR
CREATIVITY
*Creative people
generally show a spirit of Intellectual entertainment. Listening
to music, drinking coffee, watching television, Painting, Dancing,
Surfing or chatting can also plunge into creative ideas and come
up with numerous practical devices for stimulating and capturing
new ideas. Check list a bunch of verbs like magnify, substitute,
combine, expose, reverse, soar and so on. Apply these verbs at the
time of difficulties faced as you splash the creative outputs.
*Make efforts to
document your ideas. Jot down the ideas or in the shuffle of day
to day activities, you lose track of them. Be prepared to note
down, keeping handy a piece of paper, pencil or open up a folder
in you computer and feed in the ideas.
*Day dream your
ideas. It has tremendous powers to make dreams turn true or at
least, grab those moments of joy to fulfill the creative pursuits.
*Ponder over the
creative skills. Get inspired from people, places, things or happenings
– just about anything and the inspirations work wonders,
flowering to bloom fragrance of your creativity spreading
happiness within and around you.

Hi
ilaxi,
I have a problem with my son. My son lives with myself and his step dad. His real dad is
constantly in and out of his life. His teacher always sends a report and says he is
misbehaving. I'm wondering if having a dad and a step dad has taken a toll on him
psychologically. After he either sees his dad or gets of the phone with him he acts
different towards us. Not to mention this past November I had a baby girl. My son is six.
I'm thinking this might have something to do with his behavior too. Also any advice on be
patient and have time for both of my kids and still have my house cleaned and the cooking
done.Thanks.
Hi ilaxi,
My
nephew is 4yrs old his name is Sean. He is staying with mother and she is divorcee. His
behaviour seems different. He is too pampered. For even small things hurts him a lot and
he burst out very easily. Many times we find that he talks to himself. He is very
aggressive not attentive in school, dont listen to teacher some times mischievous and
sometimes he is very serious. Irreregular in eating habits. Always say no. He try to mix
with other children but other children avoids him.

Jakob Grim was
born on 4th Jan. who gave us beautiful fairy tales. How oft we remember dreaming - day
dreams as a child and letting our imagination run wild! The Grimm's Fairy Tales are all
*Five* Favourite Stars in my Read and Make Read collection in my Library. Some of my fav
stories are:
1. Hansel & Gretel
2. Red Riding Hood
3. Snot White
4. Rumpelstiltskin
5. Cinderalla
6. Sleeping Beauty
Many More...you name it and these stories make your dreams sound true! Children love to
read and listen. Even write reviews. This book is a famous collection of German Folk Tales
by two brothers Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm. The first volume contained 86 tales and the
second 70 and the last around 210 tales. The translations are perfect in this book and and
took minute care to language details. The Grimms had taken pains to collect the tales
mainly from friends and acquaintances who lived in and around a place called kassel in
Germany and printed as expression of the spirit of german people. These retold stories
with their own versions, the brothers have come out to suit public taste and their ideas
about telling tales effectively. The translator Ralph Manheim has taken pains equally in
translations! I recommend a 'Sure Sure Pick' whether one is a kid or a teen or even an
Adult. Nothing like these stories will ever take you on a trip to wonderland! My Choice,
of coz! |

Here It's been said 'Spare the Rod, Spoil the child'
these days with the new Gen kids! Sorry, not very true but no Spanking! Playing pranks and
making mischief as a child is really tons of fun but every kid needs a code of conduct - a
Discipline to adopt behavior patterns and possess self control. Children need to be taught
to pause and think of the consequences that may result from their various behaviors. It is
critical for educators to model self discipline. Younger children tend to throw tantrums,
be rigid, stubborn, have sibling rivalry, be possessive, etc and these are the trial times
for the parent to tackle firm where situations demand disciplinary action. In this book,
instead of spanking, the authors effectively provide measures to cope up in situations when
its hard to draw the line with their loving kids. The flash card approach is a plus point.
Verbal spanking is an option to spank the kid. Words said in loving way, clear and firm
voice would have its effect than abusing word war. The book says all about practical
suggestions to adopt and check those flaws in kids for their own good without spanking the
child. By controlling own words and actions, parents demonstrate to their kids, a healthy
way to react to stress. A good pick for young parents, should say!

Light
of New Life
I'm fourteen and this is my
poem Marguerite Belisle of California 8th
grade
If I come to you, crying, pleading- will do no good.
When I put the gun to your head in plea,
You will feel none but pain.
For you have already pulled the trigger amongst your self.
Now you stand dying from the inside out because all you did,
Was just once enough and too many to addict, too much to kill.
Too much to kill your heart and soul,
Too much to kill what really matters.
Too much to murder what really lies ahead.
Too much, too much.
Now all that's left for you is death,
Death of the one we once loved,
But Now you are gone,
You may still be standing ill from you mistake,
To us you are a threat to be standing,
Shameful to be what you have taken into your self,
It feels so long since you have had your health, your life, your soul,
So long it has diminished.
Rebuild what has been destroyed,
By first digging it up in agony, and internal calling
Dig deeper until the light below flows to your head,
Flaring with new found life,
Soon you will return to us,
With your past behind you to always be looked upon,
To be regretted and shamed,
Ahead of you, your future breathes new life
Around you we will stand strong, glad of your return,
But now, Grab a shovel and start digging
Your spade will hit the light of life once again,
Even when your buried too deeply in your calling death...
We want you back.
MY PERFECT HAPPINESS
AAINA AGGARWAL(14 YEARS)
I began my quest to perfect happiness
Somewhere in the midst of the forests.
Amongst the greeny cover, amid the shady trees,
Away from the busy life.
In complete isolation and tranquility.
I did discover the beauty of nature.
Experienced the privilege of segregation,
But felt the lack of composure.
So I took the path of spirituality,
To explore my inner self;
To find the peace of mind.
Yet the bliss was incomplete.
I recollected my memories,
Digged up the happiest moments of my life.
All exhibited the image of my mother,
The benefactor of my life.
I ran to her and Fell into her lap.
That day I realised my perfect happiness
I discovered my ultimate
happiness.

Animal Cruelty
By Kidsfreesoul Reader
Leanne James
Animals dont have a voice; you have to speak up for them
Every year thousands of animals are affected by animal cruelty. They have to put up with
humans taking over their lives, and even though there are campaigns, its still going
on. For example Bull Fighting, in Spain they use it as entertainment for the streets. They
poke and prod them with electric sticks to give them shocks, which frightens them so they
run away from the herd of excited, sick people. During this stampede, the bulls will often
fall and hurt themselves.
Another example is the Foie Gras Production; this is the sickest thing I have ever heard.
When people go on holiday to France, they would want to eat the Foie Gras pâté; this is
a male ducks and geese enlarged liver. What people do is shove metal pipes down the ducks
or gooses throat and pumps food into its stomach through the pipe. This gives the duck or
goose an illness which causes the liver to enlarge. The duck or goose then gets
slaughtered and sold in a French restaurant. Which I think is really sick and cruel.
Dancing Bears is another one, this happens in Bulgaria. This is as cruel as all of the
other ones, what they do is, they train the bear up by placing it on boiling hot plates
that force it to move from paw to paw to avoid being burned, while music is played. It
will move in this way whenever it hears the music making it appear to
dance.
So next time you go on holiday, just think about the poor animals who are suffering. |

"Journey to
Zigamazoo"
-By Captain Cosmo
and the Electric Brownie
This is a fictional story
about a
boy named Jerome whom finds himself stranded in a magical world where adults
are forbidden and children are free to indulge in their wildest fantasies.
All children that enter Zigamazoo are granted one wish to fulfill any desire. Jerome
puzzles over what to wish for as he encounters many unusual
characters such as "Othello-Marshmallow", "Joe-the-Crow" and
"Hippopotapillar". As the story unfolds, Jerome discovers that the children of
Zigamazoo share a common dilemma that becomes the central theme to this book's many moral
lessons.
It is this ethical content that allows this book to be used as a teaching tool for such
areas as sharing, non-discrimination, mutual respect, kindness, communication, and
altruism. From beginning to end, this story is told in a rhyming style that is reminiscent
of works by Dr. Seuss. This family oriented book includes all four seasons and contains
unique Christmas and Halloween themes. It is a uniquely poetic and harmonious treat for
readers of all ages.

Recent
research at the National Institute of Mental Health conducted by Peter Jensen concluded,
"Extensive exposure to television and video games may promote development of brain
systems that scan and shift attention at the expense of those that focus attention."
In countless homes and classrooms, we see children with more impulsive behaviors, less
willing and able to persevere through challenging mental tasks, hyperactive, reactive,
with little or no impulse control. Research confirms that children who watch TV or play
video games for more than two hours daily will most likely exhibit one or more of these
characteristics. What can we do? Limit viewing hours? Temptation to fill leisure hours
with TV viewing be avoided? Don't occupy child's mind with lot of education stuff that
leads to boredom? Think! There must be sure fire way to lessen the TV viewing hours!

TAURUS - THE BULL
(April 20th through May 20th)

Calm, Pleasant and
lovable Taureans possess silent attitude and speak sparinglyl. They are emotionally stable
with a cheerful nature and seldom get disturbed. However, they have superior quality and
are stubborn. Nobody can force them what they dislike. They have excellent powers of
concentration. Usually, Taureans are well organized, wise, clever and obedient. They are
often leaders due to their common sense and judgement. Many Taureans possess low, soft,
melodious voice and are good at music and singing. Paint brush in their hands reveal their
artistic abilities. They are also found to be confidant and self made. Their greatest weak
point is that Taureans have an ego and would never opologize even if they are wrong. To
ask for forgiveness seems to be beyond their dignity.
